The first comic Previous comic Next comic Today's comic

This is why you don't (or won't) have new comics for a little while. I've recently discovered Blender, a sweet 3D modeling and rendering program that's free, open-source, and far superior to most free programs of the same category.
The above image is my current project, which I try with between classes to try to get it more accurate and detailed. This is what I have as of 8:30 pm Wednesday night.

Updated with a new pic: This is the progress made in about four days. I still need to figure out how do snow, though (the scene I'm trying to make has a layer of newly-fallen snow).

The new one is above, the old ones (3/4/06 and 3/2/06, respectively) below.

Updated with a new pic again: This most recent pic has snow (though there are still a few surfaces lacking it that are supposed to have it), the tree's fronds are browner (and vary from line to line), the walls are redder (more like the actual walls), the camera is lower, things are darker (the monitor I'm working with is much darker than most monitors, so the renders are brighter than I thought they were), the right-most window has blinds behind it, the height-width ratio is where I need it (I plan on entering this into Snow's student show, so it needs to be framed), and a multitude of other things have been adjusted. Basically, I've got the general form down, I'm just refining the image to perfection (or insanity, whichever you perfer).

All this despite being limited in time ( t < enough ) thanks to the pressure of a buildup of assignments (probably due to all the work I do on this project rather than my homework).
